Ian Heptinstall

Ian helps project teams to deliver capital and construction projects faster, better, cheaper, and more reliably, using his Breakthrough Project Management (BPM) methodology.  BPM uses methods that are proven to improve project performance, but which haven’t yet become common in this field.Before becoming an independent consultant in 2015, the first 30 years of his working life encompassed project management, procurement and consulting.  And an employee he has managed projects in the chemicals & process industries as both client and an external consultant, and he has held senior procurement roles in the chemicals, pharmaceuticals and construction sectors. As a management consultant he has supported clients on projects related to, procurement, project management, supply chain and working capital.Based in the UK, Ian has worked all over the world, mostly on short-term tasks, with longer periods spent in France (3 yrs), Luxembourg (12 mths), the USA (5 mths), and Dubai (3 yrs).Ian is author of The Executive Guide to Breakthrough Project Management.  He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering & Management Studies from Imperial College London (B.Eng, ACGI), and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (FCIPS).
